Kibbutz Tlalim is located in the Negev desert in southern Israel. The Kibbutz’s name, Tlalim, is the plural of the “Tal” which means in Hebrew “dew” and the heavy dew that accumulates in the area at night.

Kibbutz Tlalim belongs to the “Or” Movement which aims to settle the Negev and the Galilee and make these localities “national growth engines. Independent centers, which are a pillar of a population seeking quality of life, an opportunity for self-fulfillment and value in Israel.”

The kibbutz was founded in 1980 by the Nahal group from the Scouts Movement (later changing to “Or”), and in the late 1980s, Kibbutz Tlalim was among the first kibbutzim to undergo full privatization.
