Kibbutz Nahsholim is located on one of the most beautiful beaches in Israel, not far from Haifa and less than an hour’s drive from Tel Aviv. This special community is a unique example of how laid back beach life blends in with hard-working communal Kibbutz life. The kibbutz grows bananas, avocado, cotton and raises fish in the fish ponds. There’s also a plastic factory that manufactures irrigation equipment, an impressive museum in a restored building originally used to manufacture glass bottles for Baron Rothschild’s winery, and a beach resort if you’d like stay around and soak up some extra hours of sun.
