Kibbutz Naan, near Rehovot, is the third largest kibbutz in the country and the first to be founded by members of the “Hanoar Haoved” youth movement. Today, the kibbutz has over 1,700 residents and it continues to grow and grow every year. And not only its population.

Growth has always been part of the business and economic vision in the form of the successful Naan Irrigation Products plant. After merging with a sprinkler factory in another Kibbutz called Dan, the factory was renamed “Naan Dan” and after the acquisition by an Indian company called “Jane”, the company was again renamed “Naan Dan Jane” (sounds a bit like a folk trio). Interesting how the Indians react to a sprinkler company called “Naan” (bread)?

Visit Kibbutz Naan

And still on the topic of bread, for 40 years, until the 1970s, Kibbutz Naan operated a community bakery. In 2017, the smell of bread returned to the kibbutz trails at the initiative of a local couple, and today you can enjoy handmade sourdough breads and a coffee at the Jilbert Bakery.

After (or before) the bread you can sit in Or-Li Boutique Cafe where you can enjoy a country style cafe and a clothing and gift shop.

Naan has a shared dairy farm with another kibbutz named Shoval, almost 2000 acres of crop fields, orchards, and other local initiatives such as the Naanit Fashion and Clothing store and the Hamra House Museum – a residence that was once… In fact, it’s a secret so you’ll have to come and see for yourself.
