Kibbutz Ein Gedi is located on the edge of the Judean Desert on the west coast of the Dead Sea. The kibbutz resides within a 100-dunam botanical garden, numbering over 900 plant species from around the world. It is the only populated botanical garden in the world, with 500 inhabitants.

The Ein Gedi garden joined the International University for the Conservation of Botanical Gardens in 1994, and is today recognized by the National Geographical Society as “the 11th wonder of the world.”

Kibbutz Ein Gedi is mainly engaged in agriculture and tourism in the area and nearby antiquities.
